Asha has three very different and wonderful songs in this film. The first one 'Mera dil dil dil...' is one of Asha's best 'cabaret' songs I have ever heard. She is equally comfortable in singing 'baat koi matlab', a catchy rock-n-roll song which very much resembles the rare bengali version of Biswajeet - "jaay jaay din" recorded in 1969. But the surprise song is 'koi dekhe to' - one of Asha's best Salil songs - very O.P.Nayyarish I find. It's one of those songs which haunts you for days. Salil used the slowed down version of this melody in the background music of 'Prem Patra'. |
