'Jaagiye gopaala laal' is a gem of a song. It's a pity that this film and the songs did not become more popular
In fact I can't even find the director's name in Hamraz Geet Kosh . The songs are wonderful though.
One of my most favourite songs in this film is "jaane kahan khoya mera laal" which is a haunting melody and is beautifully sung by Lata. It is in fact based on a very rare bengali song from the film "Baanser Kella(1953)".
That bengali song was itself based on a folk song from North Bengal (Koochbihaar).
