This film was quite an exception for Salil. To start with none of the lyrics was written by Salil and although Salil always composed the background music of his films this film was a notable exception. His assistant was his trusted Kanu Ghosh and the background was composed by two dedicated Salil followers : Anal Chatterjee and Abhijeet Banerjee. The other film for which Salil did not compose the background music was his last Hindi Film Vivekananda. 
Years later Salil used "dukher seemaa naai" once again in the film "Mowchor" sung by Manna Dey, but I still prefer the Satinath Mukhopadhyay's version in this film.
