"aha rimjhim ke pyaare pyyare" is without any doubt one of the most amazing compositions of Salil. The staccato bach-ish violin interlude with complex chord progression and the intricate melody line remains unparalleled after nearly 50 years.
"Machalti aarzoo" haunts you forever and the choral arrangement of the old Bombay Youth Choir song "Jaanewaale siphaahi se puchho" was too advanced for its time in 1960. The complete lyrics of this song by Makhdoom Mohiuddin was not used in this film.
The Title Music is quite complex and dramatic, just right for this film which is about the War.
