Salil used the melody of the song 'Ja re jaa jaa mono pakhi'
sung by Sabita (SC15) (also 'hamraahi manjil ke' from 'Anokhaa Daan') to compose
the Title Music. It's really wonderful and it's available on a record. The songs
of this film are superb. Quite a few new melodies! The film was directed by Ramu Kariat and it tells the story of beggars who run their life by singing on the streets. So all the songs are of that type. The song 'Makkathupoivarum' was actually composed by Latha's mother Kerala's famous singer Shanta P. Nayar during Salil's absence. Salil liked it so much that he asked Ramu Kariat to include it in the film unchanged. Unfortunately the records are nearly impossible to get. |
