Some beautiful songs. "malarkodipole" is a wonderful version of Sabita's "bhaalo laage naa" and "kannil poovu" is a delightful version of Lata's Bengali song "jhilik jhilik jhinuk khunje pelaam". A new composition by Salil - "munnottu munnottu" is just brilliant. It sounds as if it is based on some folk song and his use of drums is just amazing. This song somehow reminds me of another very similar composition by Salil "O bhai re bhai" in the Bengali film "Marjina Abdullah" which also had a wonderful Malayalam version "Chemba chemba" in "Nellu". The use of powerful drums add a different dimension to these songs. "Rappadi Paaduna" is another beautiful song based on Lata's "aaj noi gun gun gunjan premer". |
