There's an EP and an SP version of the song # SS3.
The EP version matches with the song in the film, but the SP version has a longer
antara and in fact this version sounds musically complete. Just listen to it.
In the EP version the return to 'mukhDa' from the antara sounds forced and doesn't
sound musically correct. I found it curious. Why on earth the song was butchered
? Besides this the lyrics for both these versions are slightly different. Same thing with "naam mera nimmo". There seems to be two versions of this song with different lyrics. Can't keep up with all this ! A friend of mine sent me a punjabi wedding song which has an uncanny resemblance with 'Ghoonghat haTaa na denaa goriye'. Salil must have been very impressed with the wedding song. His version is flawless and fits wonderfully in the wedding scene in the film ! |
