The World of Salil Chowdhury aims to be the largest source of
information on Salil Chowdhury, possibly the most talented composer of Indian
popular music. Salil Chowdhury died suddenly and untimely on September 5,
1995. After three years of painstaking research and hard work, this website
was launched on his third death anniversary, September 5, 1998.
Since its creation The World of Salil Chowdhury has consistently tried to keep
the information up-to-date and has provided a complete catalogue of all his compositions.
Besides being a composer Salil was also a poet and a writer. The aim of this website
is also to include a list of his poems and other writings.
With a fully dedicated and extremely knowledgeable webmaster behind the website
and a capable designer to keep it looking healthy and uptodate, the World of Salil
Chowdhury continues to be one of the largest information vaults available to lovers
of Salil Chowdhury's music.
